During Dragon story time the children will be able to practice social skills, turn taking, comprehension skills, and have plenty of fun. Each child can bring ONE dragon toy or stuffed animal to class for "Show and Tell." If they do not have a stuffed animal or toy, they can draw or color a dragon picture and bring it to class to share! Each child will have a chance to practice their social skills by telling us about the dragon item they brought to class. After everyone has had a turn, I will read a funny Dragon Story! The children will have opportunities to answer questions, and make comments about different parts of a story. I believe story times are good ways to promote listening and comprehension skills, and encourage the love of reading all while having fun. I hope to see you and your dragons in class soon.

I have been teaching for the last 27 years in a variety of settings. I have worked with children 3 to 12 years of age. I have created curriculum for 3-6 year old's, tutored, been a nanny, an assistant director, assistant teacher for early learners in the school district, and taught English (ESL) online. I have a BA in Early Childhood Education and a BA in Psychology. I love to find creative ways for children to learn and have fun! I believe children learn best through a variety of means including: repetition, writing, movement, creativity, socialization, fun, and a positive attitude. If I do not know the answer to a child's question, I will research it and let them know. Knowledge is a powerful tool that can create a spark for future learning and life adventures.
