In this course the students will read both nonfiction and fiction passages. The student will use the seven main comprehension skills to answer both nonliteral and literal questions. The following topics will be covered throughout the course with special highlights on specific comprehension skills each week. The goal of this course is for the students to be able understand and utilize comprehension skills. The students will learn how to identify main idea. The students will learn how to summarize. The students will answer both literal and non-literal comprehension questions.
I am a certified Reading Specialist, Special Education Teacher and Elementary Teacher. I have been teacher for about 20 years and have taught from Pre K to College level.
A graphic organizer will be given the day of class, the student will also need something to write with for each class.
