This is the perfect class to start from the beginning to the end as it relates to decimals. We will review EVERYTHING from place value to rounding, equivalency, comparing, sorting with plenty of practice using decimals with operations: adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. During the sessions with operations, learners will also practice solving one and two-step word problems. Learners can sign-up for the sessions that address their specific needs. This is a comprehensive course directed to help your learner become more confident when working with decimals. There is no pre-requisite knowledge required and the classes do not build on each other. Students from grades 3-7 can participate in the course, depending on their skill level and interest. Week of Jun 5 | Topic - Understanding Decimals. Review place value, equivalency, comparing, sorting, and rounding. Week of Jun 12 | Topic - Adding and Subtracting Decimals. Add and subtract decimals with the same/different place values as well as regrouping (carrying and borrowing numbers). Word problems will also be covered. Week of Jun 19 | Topic - Multiplying Decimals. Multiply decimals with the same and different place values. Week of Jun 26 | Topic - Dividing Decimals. Multiply decimals with the same and different place values.
