All exercises will be interactive, with students able to try different solutions to puzzles and cooperate with one another to find the best answer. This class is for those who know the pieces and have already learned the basic rules of the game. If you are completely new to the game, I suggest taking the Beginner Level 1 Course before enrolling in this course. Hello!
My name is Mr. Matthew and I teach Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced chess/chess theory! I've been teaching chess for 15 years and I've spent half of that time working exclusively with children. I believe in a hands-on approach that enables young learners to get in the game as quickly as possible, and that the best way to learn is by doing!
I also volunteer to mentor young men in my community through a program started by my lifelong friend. We teach them to uphold strong moral values, the importance of entrepreneurship, and to tackle self-discipline early on in life because we believe it's easier to raise strong men than it is to fix broken ones!
