このクラスで学べること
---> In this class, learners will program and design their own Google logo. Google often creates special logos, called Google Doodles, to celebrate holidays and important people, places, and events. In this activity, you (learners) will be the artist and programmer for your own special logo. You might celebrate a real or imagined holiday or even highlight your favorite hobbies and interests, like a sport or activity. ---> We will be using Scratch 3.0, a block-based programming language by MIT Media Lab for this class. Scratch is free and is available in both, online and offline formats and can be run on a web browser from either a Mac or a PC. Prior Scratch coding experience is NOT necessary for this class. ---> Learners will need an account on Scratch, So please visit https://scratch.mit.edu and click on Join to join scratch and create an account. It is completely free, and your learner will be able to save their project if an account is created. ---> This class also recommends the use of a Mac/PC/Chromebook with a web-browser such as Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, etc. to run Scratch 3. Please look at https://scratch.mit.edu/info/faq for the complete system requirements. You can still download Scratch 3 as an app from the Scratch website https://scratch.mit.edu/download for an offline version, but you would not be able to share projects. Hence I highly recommend using the online version. ---> Learners will learn about events, sequencing, and loops in computer programming while designing their own Google logo. ---> This class conforms to CSTA (Computer Science Standards for K-12 students) standards: 2-DA-09, 2-AP-10 and 2-AP-12. 教師の専門知識と資格
I have a Master’s degree in Computer Science from San Jose State University. I have been actively involved in teaching people from all walks of life, as a freelancer and I have tutored students in various platforms such as computer programming, Mobile Development (iOS), Linux shell scripting, ScratchJr, Scratch 3, Java, Python, Web development etc.
I am also a freelance music teacher and have been teaching students South Indian Classical Music, both as online and in-person classes for the past 3 years in the USA and for the past 10 years in India.
I love teaching and I make learning fun and do not believe in being strict and stern with the students. I also believe in "learning through examples"- meaning, I think of and give real-world examples to which the students can relate to so that they find it easy to understand the concepts being taught.
Now I am passionate about passing on my technical skills along with theoretical knowledge to my students and achieving the next level of success.
Apart from this, I have three beautiful kids, a 7-year old, a 4-year old and a 2-year old. I love doing experiments at home with my kids and teaching them. We learn together and have lots of fun and squeals of laughter.
