Crochet 101 is a hands-on crochet lesson designed specifically for absolute beginners to the art of crochet. Students will learn how to make a slip knot, chain, and do basic crochet stitches, as well as learning about the basic tools and supplies needed to crochet. Students may enroll or unenroll from the class at any time, allowing them to progress at their own speed and comfort level. Required supplies: • Crochet hooks (I recommend Size "J" or "6.00mm" for beginners) • Worsted/Medium weight acrylic yarn. (Avoid dark colors like black and fuzzy yarns for beginners, as they can be difficult to work with.) • Scissors Additional supplies: If your learner is ready to progress to more advanced projects, some of the following supplies may be useful to have: • Yarn needles (For weaving in ends and attaching pieces) • Long, ball-head sewing pins (For holding pieces in place while they are being attached) • Polyester fiberfill (for stuffed toys and pillows) • Plastic safety eyes for stuffed toys • Stitch markers (For making it easier to count stitches and do complex patterns) • Crochet hook organizer (For keeping hooks in an organized space where they are easy to find)
