Crime is everywhere, not just in your video games! We think about modern-day crimes a lot, but what about crimes of the past? Crimes in different countries? How did events in history shape those crimes, or how did those crimes shape history? We'll examine all of that in this class! Students will spend the first part of class (20-25 minutes) learning about a crime that took place in history. This will be told in a story format. Students are free to discuss and react to all the wild details!...
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and I have studied Criminal Law in law school. I am a true crime enthusiast and I aim to share there these stories in a perspective that can also teach about criminal law as they occurred throughout history.

Violent images or graphics will not be shown. The majority of the cases we will learn about involve theft, fraud, or other white-collar crimes. There is a possibility, however, that a violent act may be described. It will not be the focus of the case and will only be mentioned if it is pertinent to the greater story.
I use a variety of sources to prepare for this class, including newspaper articles, documentaries, encyclopedias, local and national news coverage, biographies and other books, and court documents.
