このクラスで学べること

I have been teaching for over 20 years, and have a BA in English, a Master in Teaching, and a Master in Transformative Language Arts. While I've primarily taught language arts and writing, in recent years I've also started teaching various visual arts classes for youth and adults. I am a self-taught mixed media artist with a passion for combining visual and written art on the page.
There are some basic supplies students will need every week, as well as some specific supplies based on each technique (I'll post specific supplies needed each week in the classroom). Here's a general list of what learners will need. I encourage learners to get creative and use what they have around the house. If you have any questions about a supply, please let me know.

First off, you will want some form of substrate or base for the pieces you create. You may use any of the following:
* Sketchbook, pad, or art journal (preferably a heavier weight of paper such as mixed media or watercolor weight)
* Canvases or canvas boards (you can often find these at the dollar store - I suggest at least a 5x7 size or larger)
* Altered journal created by you, using an old book, magazine, etc. (there are lots of YouTube videos available that show you how you can do this)

Basic art supplies you will need are below. Don’t feel like you need to purchase a bunch of things you don’t already have - get creative with what you already have at home:
* Collage materials (such as old magazines, junk mail, old paperwork, etc - raid your recycle bin!)
* Masking tape or washi tape
* Scissors
* Glue/adhesive (I prefer glue sticks, but you can also use things like Mod Podge, liquid glue, YES paste, etc. depending on what you have)
* Pens/pencils
* An old credit card or gift card
* Paint in a variety of colors (I prefer acrylic - you generally can get inexpensive tubes at any art store and most big "box stores." The dollar store often also has small containers of tempera paint)
* Watercolors
* Paintbrushes
* Colored pencils / crayons / markers / oil pastels
* Various goodies such as stickers, glitter, stencils, stamps, inks, etc.
* Covering to protect your workspace and your clothes
