During this class, students will practice their first-draft skills in creative writing. Every writer has experienced problems with mental blocks. Students will learn why these mental blocks can sometimes happen and how to overcome them. We will specifically discuss the fear associated with seeing a blank page and how to set realistic goals to write a first draft freely. Students will learn new tricks to write a creative first draft, then they will have some time to practice these techniques and share them with each other. Sharing will be optional for each student, but open discussion is encouraged.
