✨Don't see a time that works for you? Make a request!✨ and Allies are always welcome. ** $5 off your first Queer Kid Class with me: MNICALGBTQ5 ** Welcome to the Creative Queer Club! This is a safe space for all LGBTQ+ students who want to use their creative energy to make art or crafts while meeting new friends. Gay, Lesbian, Trans, Bi, Queer and Allies are all welcome! Art and Chat Days: learners get to bring a project to work on while hanging out with friends. Some ideas are: sketching in your sketchbook, watercolor painting, acrylic painting, knitting, digital art, sculpture-making, clay making, etc. Not feeling creative? No worries! You can always just hang out with the group without creating. I also make sure to leave time for ART SHOW AND TELL, so bring some of your favorite creations to show off! While working on a creative craft/artwork we can also discuss different topics, ideas, or favorites (books, movies, music, etc.) that may or may not be related to LGBTQ+. Gartic Phone is also a game we like to play a lot in this class. Art supplies will be listed in the classroom. **Kahoot and Youtube are not used in every single meeting. They are used once in awhile for games or demonstrations and learners will be notified ahead of time if these resources will be used in class.

Hi, I'm Teacher Monica (she/they) - a musician, artist and martial artist. I am passionate about teaching, traveling the world, and creating art.
I have experience teaching in the 1-on-1, small group, classroom and taekwondo studio settings. I worked as a middle and high school choir and fine art teacher at a Waldorf school, but I also have experience with teaching early elementary aged learners in private and small group music and art classes. I also trained as a head instructor at a Martial Art studio.
As an experienced educator, I believe that every child can become what they dream and achieve their goals. All learners deserve a well-planned, differentiated education. I am an energetic and passionate teacher and do my absolute best to model to my students so they have an example of what having a passion for learning and creating art or music looks like.
I have been teaching music for 20 years and received my Bachelor of Music in Music Education in 2014. This helped me achieve a firm grasp on the art of teaching music in both a group or private lesson setting. I also learned so many tools on how to study, read, and analyze music, which helps me guide my students into being confident performers and analyzers of their pieces.
Fun facts:
I have three cats named Atoka, Calcifer, and Bagels.
