コヨーテ：インタラクティブユニットスタディ

Welcome to another interactive unit study- Coyotes! In every interactive unit study, we aren't just listening we are EXPERIENCING. Coyotes are mysterious creatures that carry many misconceptions. In this class, we will learn about the coyote's habitat, diet, reproduction patterns, and other unique facts. Learners will have a chance to participate in a coyote tracking activity. Learners will be assigned part of the project and we will work on it over four classes. We will become familiar with citizen science and understand how our project is an example of citizen science. Everyone will contribute in this activity! This tracking project is completely fictional, created and developed by me for students to understand the importance of citizen science. All materials will be posted in the classroom each week prior to class.

Class #1- Introduction to coyotes and citizen science platforms: habitat, diet, and behavior. Locate and label coyotes.

Class #2- Introduction to movement and reasons for travel. Learners will receive their first scenarios and locate and label their coyotes new location. 

Class #3- Threats to coyotes. Learners will receive new scenarios where threats are introduced. 

Class#4 - Complete project and discuss results of declines, location, travel patterns, and reproduction 

I believe in student-led learning and some classes may take a slightly different path than planned if students develop curiousity for a new topic in regards to coyotes. My classes are developed with a hands-on, interactive component. I believe that one of the best ways to learn is by trying out what we're learning!
