Deep dive into these essential questions as we go beyond AP Chemistry: 1. In what significant way do the chemical properties of alkenes, alkanes, and alkynes differ? 2. List the different types of isomers and explain their differences. 3. Draw all the structural isomers pliable of octane. These high school level questions are designed for the learner who is surpassing AP Chemistry and seeking deep conversation on topics past AP Chemistry. To get the most out of this class, it is highly recommended to review the materials class list. The molecular modeling kit will be used across courses and is a one-time investment. Kits are readily available from a variety of science educational companies. What the learner will do: Develop and write your defining scientific thought processes. Draw out solutions to complex problems. Create a model that represents your thinking and be able to visualize the processess. Analyze the potential outcomes for prioritization and realistic production Connect learning outcomes to more conversations in chemistry. This class is learner centered where 2 classes present concepts and ideas, learners can ask questions, clarify topics. Class 3 is designed to be a flipped classroom where the participants bring forward their question collection and the teacher will act as expert and facilitator. Class topics will be catalogued and included in the course conversation summary as part of the skill checklist delivered post-script to learners.

Dr. Michael Blanchard completed his PhD at the University of Tennessee. He spent his time discussing the use of Lewis acids, Ziegler-Natta catalysis, and working to scale processes for efficiency. Before his PHD, Dr. Mike studied forensic sciences. There, his passion for the interdisciplinary work of chemistry began. From cooking to building to living in the world around us, Dr. Mike's passion is sharing how we are all connected to the study of chemistry. It was the development of the specific fields of chemistry that awarded him Adjunct Professor of Epidemiology at Warren National University. He quickly discovered that his passion for sharing and connecting knowledge was the point which learners' owned a solid conceptual foundation and were at the crossroads of deeper diving topics, such as organic chemistry and beyond.
