¡Hola!

In this engaging and practical Spanish class, your student will learn common Spanish phrases that are essential for traveling in a Spanish-speaking country or conversing with Spanish speakers who know little to no English. This intermediate-level class is ideal for students who already know some basic Spanish, such as numbers, colors, and days of the week. However, beginners have also thrived in this course! Many of my students show significant improvement after at least 10 weeks in my class.

Ages 5-15 are welcome in this class!

In this ongoing "Real World Weekly Spanish Class," your student will learn practical phrases such as:

Hola, mi nombre es… (Hello, my name is...)

Yo nací en… (I was born in...)

Mi color favorito es… (My favorite color is...)

Mi animal favorito es… (My favorite animal is...)

Mis padres se llaman… (My parents’ names are…)

And many more useful phrases that non-Spanish speakers will need when interacting with Spanish speakers.

Confidence is key! I teach students how to communicate effectively, even if their message isn't perfectly structured. As long as the receiver understands, communication is successful! I will guide your student in speaking confidently and clearly.

Week of 04/07/25: Making friends

Week of 04/14/25: Making friends, phase 2

Week of 04/21/25: Free Discussion (Ask Mr. O any words or phrases you want to learn)

Week of 04/28/25: Basic Spanish for beginners (Names, places, things)

Week of 05/05/25: Basic Spanish for beginners, phase 2 (Names, places, things)

Week of 05/12/25: Travel Spanish (Commonly used phrases for travelers)

Week of 05/19/25: Travel Spanish phase 2 (Common phrases for travelers)

Week of 05/26/25: Food and drinks (Ordering food and drinks at a restaurant)

Week of 06/02/25: Asking for help (Calling 911, talking to a police officer)

Week of 06/09/25: Asking for help phase 2

After completing the 10 weeks, I encourage students to repeat the course to review and improve their pronunciation.
