This class is not a dance class. This is a conditioning class focusing, isolating and strengthening the muscles we use as dancers. This class is made for dancers looking for extra conditioning to improve their balance, turns, leaps and more! We will isolate our cores, legs, arms, and lots of smaller muscles in between. -The beginning of class will be a structured warm-up to make sure the body and muscles are warm. -We will then move to exercises that have a focus. * Week 1 -...
Our learning goal is to learn these exercises so they can be done independently. Also, to become stronger, more flexible and confident dancers. Knowing what muscles our body is using when dancing not only helps us become stronger dancers, but it helps us in becoming more aware of our bodies when dancing.
I have my Bachelor of Arts degree in dance from the University of NH. I have been teaching dancers for over 16 years, and have my own successful dance studio that has been in business for over 6 years. I have both National and International teaching experience. Occasionally injuries do occur when dancing. They are rare, but can happen when participating in physical activity. I carefully guide, assist, coach and watch during the activity to help prevent any injury.
