The students will learn by interacting with one another through discussion. First, the students will learn the background on animal colorings and how they are used for survival tools and why some animals use camouflage. Then, they will name wild animals on their own that are brightly colored or camouflaged. They will then create their own brightly colored wild animal. As a class we will then share our pictures and describe how the coloring on the animal would help it survive.

The teacher is providing large index cards of brightly colored animals. 
The students will need materials to create their own animal. Be creative! 
Materials may include:  
-construction paper
-crayons
-paint 
-chalk
-scissors 
-glue 

OPTIONAL: 
other brightly colored materials like:
-artificial feathers 
-tissue paper 
-acorn shells 
-uncooked pasta noodles
