Get help with that summer reading list! Charlotte Brontë’s Jane Eyre is a popular classic assigned in high school reading lists. It is one of the top 50 books appearing on the AP Literature exam, it is a popular IB reading list option, and it is on the common core list of representative texts for high schoolers. In addition to all of that, it is considered an English language classic. Let’s read it together! Every class period will include a warm-up activity, a lesson of the day with discussion, and some read-aloud time. Students will not be asked to read aloud. I will be reading aloud to the students. This class follows common core curriculum standards. In addition to reading and analyzing this particular book, students will also be learning the tools they need to tackle reading classic literature in the future. I am a college English teacher and have developed this curriculum to prepare high schoolers for college. Reading guides and note outlines will be provided at every class. This class is great for English language learners who are looking for guided reading practice.
