OVERVIEW:
Welcome to Code & Create: Girls' Minecraft Coding Club! This ongoing class is open to all learners but is designed to be a welcoming and encouraging space for girls who want to explore coding in a fun and social environment. Each week, we’ll work on exciting coding challenges, build creative projects, and develop confidence in programming—all at your own pace!

LEARNING GOALS:
Students will gain a strong foundation in programming concepts while engaging their creativity in Minecraft. Topics include:

Variables – Learn how to store and use information in your code.
Functions – Discover how to write reusable, efficient code.
Lists – Manage collections of data for more complex projects.
Code Flow – Understand how instructions are processed in sequence.
Debugging & Problem Solving – Learn how to fix mistakes and refine code.
Creative Thinking – Use coding to design and build imaginative structures.

CLASS STRUCTURE:
■ Greetings – Welcoming and connecting with classmates.
■ Topic Overview – Introducing the weekly coding project.
■ Coding Time – Students will code, build, and test their creations.
■ Creative Showcase – Share creations together.
■ Optional Group Activities – If time allows, we'll end with fun games or group activities.

EXPERIENCE:
No coding experience is required.
No Minecraft experience is required.
Perfect for beginners looking for a supportive and empowering learning space.

REQUIREMENTS:
This class uses Minecraft Education Edition. Please ensure it's downloaded and installed before class. Available for Windows, Chromebook, Mac, iPad, and Android Tablets.
Two devices are recommended—one for coding and another for viewing Zoom.

Our teachers are experienced in coding and passionate about creating inclusive and empowering spaces for young girls. They bring expertise from educational environments like schools and camps, ensuring a fun and confidence-building experience.

MESSAGE RESPONSE TIME:
Messages are typically answered within 48 hours.

ATTENDANCE and REFUND POLICY:
Missed classes, regardless of the reason, are not eligible for refunds. This policy ensures fairness to our teachers and all students, as once a spot is taken, it cannot be filled by another student. Additionally, teachers will only wait for 10 minutes in the classroom for students to join; if no student arrives within this time, the teacher will close out the class. Please note that we do not reschedule classes due to missed sessions.
