Students will learn interesting facts about the history of Cinco de Mayo and the Battle of Puebla. The teacher, who is of Chicana / Mexican heritage, will explain common misconceptions of his holiday. Students will be provided with a coloring page before the beginning of class for it to be printed out. The class will be conducted in English with some Spanish words related to the content. The teacher will define these words as she presents her material. No previous Spanish experience is required.
