Through FUN stories and EXCITING lessons students will come away from the program with an understanding of how chess pieces move, what is checkmate & a variety of chess tactics and strategies. Lessons are designed for chess players with no or limited experience. Students interested in a refresher course are also welcome. Classes are interactive with opportunities to share, earn team points and demonstrate learning. 25 minutes of the class is a story-based Chess lesson from our instructors who build rapport and are highly honored to mentor and encourage the students. The last 30 minutes is play time in our private chess.com club. Why Chess? Our curriculum is developed by our team and is unique to Strategic Kids and our sister company Academic Chess of Orange County.
We will play Chess online in our private club at the website https://www.chess.com/club/academic-chess-and-strategic-kids . Instructions on how to join the club and access the live games is included in the welcome post.

At Strategic Kids, our mission is to have a positive impact on communities by teaching life strategies through games. Since 2013, our team has been striving to bring the best hour of the day to kids and we love helping students overcome new challenges. Over 10,000 kids have been involved in our programs in hundreds of schools over the last 7 years. We focus on STEM based classes, interactive learning, and learning through play. Our teachers have a big heart for helping kids and we feel passionate about getting kids involved in these activities that kids will enjoy for the rest of their lives!
The main "games" used to teach are Chess, LEGO, performance Magic, and Origami. Our fun and exciting coaches bring learning to life with story-based lessons and engaging games. STEM topics covered include the mathematics and patterns of Chess, engineering and architectural LEGO designs, geometry and aerodynamics in Origami and paper airplanes, and physics tools and mathematics in performance Magic.
