宿題:
週あたり 1-2 時間. Since this is a self-paced class, the homework is to view the videos and supplemental material and work individually on the project. This is expected to take 1-2 hours per week. I am available for help if students don't understand or have problems implementing the lesson.
テスト
I give informal feedback to students with suggestions for improvement, if needed. I can give more formal assessment by parent or student request.
評価

このクラスで学べること

Welcome back to the world of Engineering Design! This is the Level 2 Class for CADD and Engineering Design with Fusion 360. Students will learn more about the engineering design process and how to use the software tools to design and modify product prototypes.

Students will work on a project to model and modify a teapot. They will then learn how to combine the separate parts into an assembly and how to export the finished project into industry-standard design documentation. They will also learn how to use some of Fusion 360's more advanced features, such as animation and simulation of designs. Students will acquire hands-on computer drafting skills which they can use for post-secondary education vocational goals or as a component of further engineering studies.

Lessons will be introduced and modeled by the teacher in pre-recorded videos. Students will complete the steps with the video. The teacher will be available by messaging and live by appointment to facilitate understanding and to troubleshoot problems. As part of this class, we will also have discussion posts for students to respond to the teacher about engineering concepts, Fusion 360 software features.

There will be printed and video instructions for each step of the project available . The instructor will be available for questions, help, and troubleshooting during the week. Students will be expected to complete the week's assigned project steps, and will receive feedback on their progress. They will be able to improve and resubmit any projects at any time during the class.

This class is designed to be the Level 2 course following the first Fusion 360 class. I will let students take it without the pre-requisite by permission (i.e., they have previous 3D drafting or modeling experience or if they watch an introductory video I've made for my Level 1 students). Other than a basic familiarity with the Fusion 360 program, students do not need any prior engineering or drafting experience. They will need good basic computer skills and a fast internet connection. We will be using Autodesk Fusion 360, an industry-standard cloud-based design platform, which can run on 64-bit operating systems on either Windows or Mac-based PCs. The system requirements for the software are listed here: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/System-requirements-for-Autodesk-Fusion-360.html

Students will be able to get the software free of charge by downloading the personal version for this class. (Students may also opt to get the free educational version if they qualify.) Students under 13 will need to have a parent create their account with Autodesk to be able to download the software. https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/personal

I am a certified/licensed middle and high school teacher: Technology Education. Grades 6-12 (Texas) and Technology Education. REPA 3, Grades 5-12 (Indiana). I've taught CADD to high school students in both public and private schools and here on Outschool since 2013. I have almost 20 years of experience working with engineering and architectural firms before I became a teacher, so I have a good perspective on how these skills integrate into a real-world career.
