数学への自信を高める - あなたのためにデザインされたチュートリアル (9～14 歳、LD+)

I tutor all math topics that are covered in a standard curriculum up to grade 10, including basics from previous grades. These can include numeracy, measurement, arithmetic, place value, data management, geometry, fractions, ratios, probability, integers, algebra, pre-calculus, problem solving, and more.

I specialize in building a relationship with my student so that they’re comfortable when I’m identifying their unique learning challenges. I then customize the math curriculum and approach it with their  strengths, goals, and interests in mind.

I don't focus on grades or perfect answers. I encourage my students to take risks, make guesses, and learn from and correct their own mistakes. We celebrate effort and persistence, and boost academic confidence.

If you have a learner with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or dyscalculia, I explore ways to engage with math concepts from a new direction, and bring my students up to their full potential!

This class is designed for your unique learner, so it does not yet have a "set" curriculum. 


The course will always include certain elements:

I will get to know your learner – what emotions they feel about math, what kinds of games and challenges they like, what they like to do for fun, and what makes them feel engaged?
I will use humor to put your learner at ease and encourage engagement.
I will informally assess your learner’s strengths and skills, and identify their learning gaps and obstacles.
I will meet with parents and carers to consult about learning goals and discuss successful strategies.
I will engage with your learner’s current math challenges and address basics that need to be reinforced.
I will build your learner’s confidence by encouraging them to celebrate and learn from their mistakes, accept new challenges, and recognise the steps they are taking towards math mastery.
I will customize, update, and discuss the curriculum with flexibility.

Depending on your learner, the course may include some of the following:

I may adapt structured curriculum from outside sources such as Khan Academy, Common Core, 
I may approach specific challenges through drawing, storytelling, rhyming, games, challenges, or whatever engages the learner.
I may focus on relieving stress and/or anxiety about math
I may use creative techniques to keep the learner engaged and at the screen
I may encourage specific activities to practice math outside of the class
I may (at the discretion of the parent or carer) talk informally about learning challenges in general or specific to the learner
