読書クラブ - ジェニファー・ニールセン著『アイスバーグ』

This exciting class is based around a discussion guide pdf that will be sent home upon enrollment and will be used  as a focus during our lively and important discussions regarding the chapters assigned for each class session.  Our meetings will be, as always, a very safe place for learners to share ideas, discuss opinions and facts and be received in a positive and encouraging environment.

Time will be spent in deep and thoughtful conversations that not only center around plot, conflicts, decisions, rising action and the climax and following outcomes but the group or individual meeting with me will be highly engaged into discussions based on historically accurate content, themes, chapter summaries, character analysis, symbols and motifs and analyzing quotes.

This book will pull the reader in with the depth created for each character and their characteristics and quirks plus accurate understanding of the class system that was present on the boat.  The discussions will give depth to the conflicts characters faced, decisions they made and the outcomes that followed, which allows our learners to strengthen reasoning and decision making skills.

If wanted, a graphic organizer for note taking is always an option, and would require adding on classes, so that a specific 5 paragraph evidence based essay can be written in 2-3 following sessions of independent classes.

Assignments:
Before class 1, please read  to the end of chapter 13.

Before class 2, please read to the end of chapter 25.

Before class 3, please read to the end of chapter 34.

Before class 4. please read to the end of the book.
