Does your learner love stories, but struggle to find books that keep them hooked? Or perhaps they’re looking for a place to share their reading adventures with others? Research shows that kids read more (and better) when they’re excited about the books they’re reading. That’s where Book Bonanza comes in! Our weekly book club is designed to ignite your child’s passion for reading while developing their critical thinking and communication skills. We’ll explore a variety of captivating stories hand-selected for learners ages 9-12 (4th, 5th, and 6th grades) that will spark curiosity, creativity, and a love of books. Each session begins with an inspiring quote from the week’s book, setting the tone for lively discussions where your child will dive deep into characters, themes, and plot twists. What we’ll be reading this session: November 30th: Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets, by JK Rowling December 7th: Bridge to Terabithia, by Katherine Paterson December 14th: Sounder, by William H. Learners should have their own copy of the book that we will be reading each week. These books can all be found at a local library. Please reach out to your library ahead of time. If they do not have a book, most libraries will order that book for you.

With over 10 years of teaching experience across multiple states and grade levels, Mrs. Tegan Bombard brings a wealth of expertise to every class she leads. From Kindergarten to 5th-grade math, and everything in between, she’s seen it all—making her uniquely equipped to support learners of all abilities.
Tegan holds two Master's degrees: one in Literacy Education and another in English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). Her background in literacy allows her to create meaningful connections between reading and other subjects, while her expertise in ESOL ensures that all learners feel supported, no matter their language background.
Known for her innovative and hands-on teaching style, Tegan believes in making learning fun and accessible. Her approach combines a deep understanding of educational standards with the ability to adapt and meet students' individual needs. She’s passionate about fostering curiosity and building confidence, whether it’s in math, reading, or problem-solving.
As a homeschooling mom herself, Tegan knows the importance of a personalized, student-centered approach. Her goal is not just to teach but to inspire and empower learners to become lifelong learners who are confident, capable, and excited about the world around them.
