After signing up you will receive instructions on how to download and test blender. If Blender does not work on your computer you will get a full refund for your first day of class. CLASS DESCRIPTION If you have seen 3D models in video games and movies and want to learn how to create your own, this class is a great place to start. This class is for students who are completely new to Blender, or who know how to use Blender but want a strong foundation in 3D modeling. In this ongoing weekly class students will learn how to model new items each week. We will cover 3D modeling tools including extrude, loop cut, inset, proportional editing and more as we build hamburgers, houses, donuts, mountains, pizzas and more! Then we will color our creations with a variety of simple materials. Students can take one class just to see if they like it and cancel, or keep showing up each week to build on their 3D modeling skills. If they like this class they can then progress to "Blender 3D Modeling - INTERMEDIATE - Weekly Ongoing Class". HOW TO GET INTO INTERMEDIATE MODELING The next class is "Blender 3D Modeling Weekly Ongoing Class - INTERMEDIATE Level". Students need a minimum of 10 points to get into the intermediate class. Watch the class video in the class image thumbnail above (time code 2:50) to see how the point system works. PREREQUISITE - INTRO TO MODELING There are no prerequisites for this class. ALL levels of learners are welcome including complete beginners. This class is required for all of my other modeling classes. PUNCTUALITY POLICY: This class is very process dependent, and students progress as a team through lessons. Students are required to show up on time or early to class ( : CLASS ROTATIONS There are 20 projects below in the weekly curriculum rotation. Students can start ANY time, they don't have to start at the beginning of the rotation. Each week is a stand alone project, they do not build on one another. The rotation repeats every 20 weeks. CURRICULUM SCHEDULE (Watch the class video in the class thumbnail at time code 1:35 to see examples of the items listed below). ROTATION DATES: 9/9/24 - 1/12/25 1/13/25 - 6/8/25 (no class 4/5 - 4/13/25) 6/9 - 11/2/25 (no class 8/30 - 9/7/25) 1 donuts 2 pine trees 3 spaceships 4 hamburgers 5 rocks, hills, mountains, and clouds 6 sci fi architecture 1 7 cars 8 city buildings 9 robots 1 10 table and chairs 11 swords 12 pizza 13 trees with leaves 14 medieval cottage 15 airplane 16 sci fi architecture 2 17 robots 2 18 flowers and grass 19 satellite 20 old school arcade game HOW THIS LIVE CLASS IS RUN In this class students will follow along with the live demonstrations for each lesson, so they can get any assistance they need during class. Students are encouraged to ask questions when they don't understand what is happening in the lesson. A new assignment is offered each week. When a project is not finished during class, students have the option of using a homework video to complete that same project for extra practice. They will be required to follow and complete their assignment with accuracy first by following all steps in the order they are given (building skills), and then to be creative and rework their assignment and add new ideas afterwards (applying and creating with skills). ABOUT 3D MODELING 3D models are used by a variety of industries including video games, product development, and engineering. The act of 3D modeling incorporates math and design skills through understanding the basic vocabulary of 3D objects (vertex, edge, face), learning to manipulate objects with a variety of tools, and using scale, measurement, and rotation to position those objects in the x, y, and z coordinates of the 3D scene.

I have been teaching art (animation, illustration, sculpture, painting, and digital art) to elementary and teenage students consistently for over 25 years. My teaching includes 4 years as a public school teacher, 18 years as the owner of Artmuuv (Previously Creative Art Network for after-school, during school, and summer programs) and 12 years as an artist in residence (mural painting focus). I've also been designing elaborate video tutorials since 2008 for a large variety of mediums.
I love what I do and that passion drives my ongoing learning. I’ve studied traditional art through Cornish College of the Arts, Western Wa University, and a variety of other classes.
