This class will focus on teaching students the fundamentals of guitar! I am always student-specific, so we will go at the pace the individual learner and focus on his/her level. I would love to hear what kind of music or which artists your learner enjoys listening to!

I offer this class as a one-time "infomercial" on the basics of guitar OR as an ongoing course that builds on itself in each session. After every class, we will pick up where we left off in the next one! The goal is continued growth and a really fun time for each student! I hope to share in my love of music and instruments with your learners. :)

I focus on teaching with joy, encouragement and excitement in each class. I hope to create an environment that is welcoming and accommodating. We will always work at the student's pace.

We will work on the following topics initially:
-how to tune a guitar
-the parts of a guitar
-the names of the strings
-numbering the fingers
-the purpose of a metronome 

Then we will build into:
-chords and chord shapes
-how to read charts
-rhythms
-strumming patterns
-picking patterns
-learning songs

I also offer a Taylor Swift class where we learn new Taylor Swift songs every week on guitar!
