Lesson 3 will start with a discussion of article words, A, An, and The. Students will be shown examples to help them determine the appropriate rule for using “A” vs. “An.” Students will first practice diagramming sentences with articles before defining adjectives. Students will then discuss and practice adding adjectives into their sentence diagrams.
Lesson 4

Compound Parts
 Week 4
Lesson 8
What Is a Compound Sentence?
In this lesson, students will learn about the seven coordinating conjunction words. I will often use the acronym FANBOYS to help students remember what those seven words are. Coordinating conjunctions create compound parts, so those words will be very important throughout this unit. Lesson 12 will begin with a final review of the FANBOYS. I will ask students if they can recite the words by memory at this point. Students will then define and diagram compound prepositional phrases. At this point, diagramming any compound part should be fairly intuitive for students. I am a licensed English teacher for students in grades 5-12. I spent 4 years teaching in a public school, and I used sentence diagramming with the students I taught!
宿題が提供されます
Each video with accompanying sample sentences should take students about a half an hour to complete. This might go a little faster if students catch on quickly. Diagramming the sentences should take about a half an hour as well once we get into more complex sentences. The work will be very quick for the first week. Each of the four unit quizzes will take students about a half an hour to complete as well.
授業以外に週あたり 1 - 2 時間の学習が期待されます
