The objective of these private hand drum lessons is to enable the student to gain a greater set of technical and musical skills on the hand drum, and to help the student develop a greater understanding of the role of the hand drum in a variety of musical genres. This is achieved through the repetitive practices of technique and coordination, as well as developing critical listening skills demanded of drummers. The lessons will meet the student at their skill level and assess ways in which they can grow as a drummer. Most students can play a drum beat by the end of the first class! *Open to discuss need-based discounts. The goal is to make happy drummers regardless of funds.

Areas covered include learning beats and patterns then building upon them, rudimental practice, strengthening time playing and developing one’s musical vocabulary.

👩🏼🎓 In addition to being a lifelong drummer, I have a journalism degree from Appalachian State University, and I am a certified instructor of UCLA & Remo's "Beat The Odds" a program that blends drumming and social-emotional learning for kids & adults.
