In this 8-week follow up to our "Champion Level" courses, students will dive deep into some of the best ways to transition from classical openings into a strong midgame, through an analysis of historic games from famous chess players. With a focus on midgame ideas, tactics, and lines that students should be able to use and apply in their games to help them either get decisive checkmates or at least put them in positions to not lose through stalemate or repetition. Each of these games shows a different line or idea during the midgame after an opening that most of these students should at least have some understanding of. Many of these games involve combinations of attacking castled positions, rapid development with irresistible attacks and checks, sacrificing minor and big pieces to win position or even to checkmate, or some strange ideas such as advancing a King up the board or finding certain minor piece traps to exploit. Each one shows students how they can apply everything they have learned up to this point in a midgame position and how they can use those ideas to achieve victory or at least draws in their matches. Students will go through each game and see why these ideas are working and will find engagement with how each game plays out.
学習到達目標
