In this ongoing class, learners will become text detectives & word inspectors! Learners will find the evidence from the passages to prove their answers and comprehension of the text. Using the same passage, learners will then identify parts of speech, contractions, compound words, plural form, etc. This class uses an active reading strategy – by color-coding our answers – with non-fiction informational text passages. I have a 120hr TESOL certificate and two years of experience teaching ESL learners online for companies such as Palfish, VIPKid, GoGoKid, and Magic Ears in China, and Egg School in South Korea. I have also tutored students in local schools (ie., reading help, homework help, social skills).
Students will be provided with a 2-page PDF to print each week. They will need a pencil and either colored pencils or crayons for color-coding.
