このクラスで学べること
If you are expecting that these doughnuts will taste anywhere close to regular doughnuts, do yourself a favor and do NOT sign up for this class. However, if you are open to alternative, allergen friendly options, this class might be a good fit. These doughnuts will be: vegan, gluten free, soy free, and nut free. In this one time class, I will take your learner into the kitchen and bake these healthy pumpkin spice doughnuts. This recipe is vegan, gluten free, and nut free. I have always been frustrated how bad most gluten free pastries taste so I have been passionate about finding and experimenting with different recipes to find some that actually taste pretty good. At the beginning, I will go through introductions and have each learner share their experience with baking or cooking. Then, I will give an overview of exactly what we will be doing and what we will be using so everyone is clear before we start. I also like to remind students that typically, measuring out the exact amounts in baking is critical, but this recipe is more forgiving. Also, I will be going over some basic hygiene reminders like making sure everyone has washed their hands. The bulk of the class will be making the doughnuts. I have my classroom setup in my kitchen with an extra camera so that learners can more easily follow my step-by-step instructions. We will go through the whole recipe and get the doughnuts poured into the doughnut sheet and bake in the pre-heated oven. The last part of the class will be to remove the finished doughnuts and maybe add some coconut sugar or maple cream on top and have a taste. My teaching style is hands on and each learner will get plenty of chances to ask questions. As long as your learner has the proper supplies (listed below) and can speak English, you can enroll them in this class.

教師の専門知識と資格
I am teaching vegan cooking, vegan baking and music.
I became interested in vegan cooking in 2010, after graduating from college. I became more aware of how our food is processed and felt the need to stop eating animal products. I enjoy making quick easy meals. I also like to bake and enjoy simple, healthier versions of certain treats that I used to love to eat like donuts!
Music has been apart of my life since I was 5 years old. I attended preparatory divisions at Mannes School of Music and Manhattan School of Music and received a Bachelor of Music from Boston University in music performance.
I attempt to make my classes fun, engaging, and inclusive. It is important that all students feel comfortable in the lessons because then you are able to express your ideas and creativity. In addition, I have a Waldorf background and am familiar with their teaching style.
In high school I won a chamber music competition and performed at Avery Fisher Hall.
