Are you a fan of space? Do you want to meet other teenagers who are similarly interested in the fascinating facets found in the field of astronomy? Do you have an insatiable curiosity for understanding the universe that you find yourself embedded within? If so, then this ongoing Astro Club was made for you! Astro Club is about all aspects of astronomy! We will discuss topics including (but not limited to) planetariums, observatories, astrophotography, and the latest news in astronomy. I encourage the students to share their specific interests in astronomy with their peers. Week of October 1: Astrophotography Week of October 8: Planetariums Week of October 15: Astronomy news Week of October 22: Observatories and telescopes The above topics are meant to be jumping-off points to start the discussion for the week. The discussion can freely evolve into other astronomical interests the students have. I recommend that learners come to class with some ideas of what they would like to talk about and share with the club! Mr. Ferko will moderate the astronomy club to ensure that the discussions remain within the realm of astronomy and astrophysics. Mr. Ferko will also offer up topics to jumpstart the discussion which can either be elaborated upon, or the students may choose a topic of interest to them.
