This AP U.S. History prep course is a fast-paced, engaging, and structured review designed to strengthen historical knowledge, build critical thinking skills, and prepare students for the AP exam—without feeling like just another textbook reading. Covering all nine APUSH periods, this course includes interactive discussions, activities, and regular assessments to make history both fun and memorable.

What Will Be Taught?
Students will review major historical events, themes, and skills from 1491 to the present, focusing on cause and effect, continuity and change, and comparative analysis—all essential for success on the AP exam. We’ll explore the fascinating stories behind major events, the surprising connections between different eras, and how the past still shapes today’s world.

How Is the Class Structured?
Lecture-based format with clear explanations, engaging storytelling, and humor to keep things lively. Each session focuses on a specific time period, highlighting key events and trends. Quizzes after every unit, a midterm, and a final exam assess comprehension and help tailor instruction. Open discussions for students to debate historical ideas and share their thoughts in a relaxed setting. Interactive activities at the end of many lessons bring history to life in creative and unexpected ways. Optional readings for students doing this as a review; required readings for students taking this as a full class.

How Will I Teach?
My teaching style is energetic, engaging, and designed to make history fun. Instead of dry memorization, students will get:

I’m a history teacher and adjunct professor who loves making the past come alive! With a Master of Science in History and Archival Science and a Bachelor of Arts in History, I’ve spent years teaching students how to think like historians, break down big events, and connect the dots across time—all while keeping history engaging and (dare I say) fun!

I currently teach high school AP U.S. History and work as an adjunct professor at the college level, so I know what it takes to succeed in both high school and higher education. My teaching approach focuses on clear, engaging explanations, ensuring students feel confident tackling AP-style questions and historical analysis.

I also have experience working at a school for students with ADHD, ADD, autism, ODD, and other learning differences, which has shaped the way I build structured, flexible, and supportive learning environments. I believe every student learns differently, and I’m committed to making history accessible to all.

Additionally, I have extensive experience teaching international students who do not speak English as their first language. Because of this, I ensure that all course materials use clear, precise language without unnecessary complexity, making historical analysis more approachable while still maintaining the rigor of an AP-level course.

Beyond teaching, I’ve worked as a curriculum writer and editor, designing history courses and instructional materials that align with AP standards. That means I not only teach history—I help shape how it’s taught!
