This is a one-on-one class focused on helping students succeed on the challenging AP Spanish Language exam. The course utilizes six main themes to explore Spanish language and culture: Global Challenges, Science and Technology, Contemporary Life, Personal and Public Identities, Families and Communities, and Beauty and Aesthetics. There will be an informal initial assessment in order to tailor the class to the student. My teaching style centers the student and I teach with the joyful learner philosophy in mind. While my expectations and the class level are very high, I believe in minimizing stress and learning from mistakes.

Best for students currently enrolled in AP Spanish Language. May be suited for native speakers in equivalent classes or any students who have taken Spanish immersion classes.

I’m in my 8th year of teaching AP Spanish classes at San Francisco’s top public high school. My students regularly score way above the national and California average on AP exams, including two years where 100% of my students passed. In 2022, 60% of my students scored a 5 (compared to 6% of students scoring a 5 in California that year).
I have a deep understanding of what it takes for students to thrive in their lessons and succeed on the AP exam. In addition to teaching AP classes, I have experience scoring exams as an AP Spanish Literature Reader and am very familiar with the scoring rubric.レビュー
