In this 6 week class, learners will create artwork inspired by 5 different insects. The first class will start with introductions, and the beginning of each class thereafter will start with a review of what was covered in the week before. Each lesson will be taught in a directed drawing style to aid those who are not yet confident in their skills. However, after the learners have completed the demonstrated steps, they will be encouraged to make their art unique and personal to them. If time permits, at the end of class all students will share their artwork with the class. Not only will we make creepy crawly artwork, but students will also introduced to drawing, painting, collage. Learners will use multi media techniques that require materials that are not typically used in the art making process, such as salt and tissue paper. Let's make some cool bug art together and have a great time! Here is a breakdown of the project and materials used for each week of class: Week 1: Butterfly, watercolor Week 2: Spider Web, Day 1, multimedia Week 3: Spider Web, Day 2, multimedia Week 4: Bee, drawing Week 5: Dragonfly, paper collage Week 6: Terrarium, drawing
