Students will learn the basics of how to communicate in American Sign Language and will be able to introduce themselves, their family members and their interests. Topics include: Letters and Numbers, Greetings and Common Phrases, Colors and Animals, Family Members and Feelings. 

I started teaching myself sign language since 2014 until I was able to start taking classes in 2016 in college. I've been taking ASL classes for 5 years in college and I've been to multiple ASL meet ups in the community. I currently host an ASL club at my school to teach students sign language. I’m currently studying to become an interpreter.

In order to get better at any skill, practice is necessary. To retain what they learn in class, students will need to practice what they learn throughout the week. Practice should take place anywhere from 1-2 hours a week.

Students will participate in activities and games throughout our meetings. By the end of our course, students will be able to introduce themselves and family members in sign language, as well as tell the class an interesting fact about themselves.
