In this live ongoing class I will perform short stories from American authors and engaging learners in conversation about the characters, style, themes, stories, conflicts and authors from American literature. Each class will start with a brief introduction to that weeks author and some context for the story, and will move directly into my reading/performing the story for the students. The readings are broken into 4-7 minute sections with space between to discuss vocabulary, reading comprehension checks and to discuss the characters, conflict and themes we encounter. The class is designed for learners ages 14-18 and where appropriate I will publish a week prior to each class any themes that parents may need to discuss before class with their learner.
