In this one-time class, students will learn the difference between falling and gliding and how this relates to airplanes. We will learn about surface area and how the surface area helps things to glide. We'll watch a couple short video clips of animals that glide through the air and also do a quick experiment, dropping two pieces of paper to the ground- one crumpled up and one not. We will discuss if airplanes would start falling or gliding if their engine stopped working. We'll learn about glider airplanes - how they take off and stay up in the air without an engine. At the end of class, we will create glider airplanes together to demonstrate what we've learned. It'll be a lot of fun! #academic ⭐️I prefer to keep students unmuted throughout class so that we are easily able to converse, however, there may be times where I will need to mute students due to background noise or other factors.

Students will need: 2 sheets of paper (printer paper or notebook paper) - for our experiment 1 sheet of 8.5" x 11" printer paper to make our airplane glider

Hello everyone! I am a former elementary teacher, teaching 5th grade for 2 years and 1st grade for five. I enjoy teaching children about reading and math through games, hands-on learning, and engaging activities. Airplanes, bracelet-making, and social clubs are some of the other topics I am passionate about teaching. Through my time in the classroom, I know that in order for kids to learn, they need to be engaged and having fun! This is why I bring games and activities to all of my classes, so that we can really enjoy our time together.
I still currently hold a K-6 Elementary Teaching License. I loved my time teaching in the classroom but just recently decided it was time for me to stay home with my own two children (ages 3 and 1.5). We are excited for all the adventures we are going to have together as a family, especially going to the zoo to see my favorite animal - giraffes!レビュー
