In this class, students will learn about the life of the remarkable George Washington Craver. He was an inventor and agricultural scientist who found hundreds of ways for using peanuts. Students will learn that he was more than just the "Peanut Man". They will understand how his contributions made life easier for many people around the world, including farmers and scientists. Students will learn about his childhood, education and career.  They will understand the challenges he faced as an African American man and how he was still able to overcome those difficulties. We talk have a discussion about how he was able to prove to America that black people were just a capable.  He was able to prove that black Americans played a significant role in making this country a better place for all people. By the end of class, students should be able to understand why George Washington Craver is an important historical figure and how he spent his life improving lives for others. 

This lesson will be interactive, and each student will have an opportunity to share their thoughts and opinions. If you have any questions about the class or suggestions please send a message.
