In this fun and interactive ongoing class, students will practice adding and subtracting double digital numbers within 100 with and without regrouping by playing an interactive game with their peers. 

Each class will spend the first half teaching and reviewing the steps to solve an addition and subtraction problem. I will teach how to solve the problem in several different ways including using the standard algorithm and visual representations. I will use the strategy based on what the class needs.

The last half of the class we will practice solving problems together, and a few word problems while we play a fun game together.

Each class we will play a different game that allows students to interact, collaborate, have conversation and most importantly, have a blast practicing adding and subtracting and building fluency skills with each other!  We will play all of the games together as a group, as teams or students vs teacher. Some games will be on the computer using sites like Nearpod.

Games are a fun way to practice math! Practicing math facts will help with memorization, recalling facts and the steps to solve equations faster. And what better way than to practice than with games!
