In this 4 week course, students will learn the basic chords necessary to play a variety of beginner songs. We will learn a new song each week. In each class, we will learn two to three chords, practice the correct finger and hand positions for each chord, and learn a basic strum pattern. We will also practice switching from chord to chord while singing the song. The goal will be to play the song (slowly!) together at the end of each class. Students will be required to practice a minimum of 30-60 minutes per week over a 2-3 day period. Frequency over the length of practice time is preferred. For example, I prefer a student to practice 15-20 minutes per day, 3 days per week than to practice 60 minutes in one day and not touch the guitar again for the rest of the week.
