ABRSMピアノレッスン

Students taking this class prepare 3 or 4 pieces from the ABRSM piano syllabus, with the goal of taking the ABRSM exam. I prepare students for the initial grade (new to note reading) through performance grade 8.

What is ABRSM? The ABRSM is the exam board of the Royal Schools of Music, delivering over 650000 music exams and assessments every year in 93 countries. Preparing for ABRSM exams helps students develop their musical skills, knowledge and understanding. Preparing for digital performance exams can be considered less time consuming and expensive than in-person exams. Students signup for the official ABRSM test, then submit their 3 or 4 pieces in a single recording within 30 days. The examiner grades the performance, writes helpful feedback, and certificates based on merit are awarded.

In this ongoing private class, we prepare 4 contrasting pieces from different music history periods in the ABRSM syllabus. We decipher the score, reading notes and music markings. We interpret pieces beautifully with intentional movements to develop strong technique and procedural memory.  Most students will have finished their primer and level 1 lesson books prior to this class. We may also have a traditional lesson book. Depending on the student, we also might get a slightly below level lesson and sight reading book to further reading fluidity :)
