Welcome to a full year of ELA classics and more! This class will cover everything you need to ensure your child has a solid ELA education! Each week, we will go through classic stories that learners will read on their own outside of class while answering questions I will provide for them. There will also be spelling words and grammar concepts we will study. I do use unabridged versions of books when at all possible. Links will be provided where I found unabridged versions. There are some free options which you will see below. Audible is another wonderful way to listen if that is better for a learner. Here is the book list: 1. Redwall (8 weeks) 2. Sherlock Holmes (2 weeks) 3. A Christmas Carol (5 weeks) 4. The Hobbit (6 weeks) 5. To Kill A Mockingbird (8 weeks) 6. Anne of Green Gables (5 weeks) We will also be learning spelling words and definitions based on the stories listed above. One other component of this curriculum include going through the grammar book, Easy Grammar. This will provide everything you need to reinforce or learn new grammatical skills children need to learn. I will be doing the level 7 book. Please make sure to read the books ahead of time in case this is a class you would or would not want your learner to take. The books I have chosen are classics and as such, will be treated with a great amount of respect.
