Welcome to sixth grade math! I can't wait for you to join the Moxie Learning family! This series of 4 classes can be used as your child's sole math course for their year or as a supplement to another math class or curriculum. Students will deepen their understanding of whole number operations. Students will be able to solve equations accurately using order of operations. Students will be able to find correct multiples and factors of numbers. Students will be able to utilize properties of multiplication and division. Students will deepen their understanding of a fraction as smaller than a whole number. Students will be able to accurately multiply fractions by a whole number and by another fraction. Students will be able to accurately divide fractions by a whole number and by another fraction. Students will expand their understanding of number lines to include decimals to the hundred thousandth place. Students will be able to correctly compute the addition and subtraction of decimals. Students will be able to correctly compute the multiplication and division of decimals. Students will practice personal responsibility by coming to class on time and prepared each day. Students will consistently raise their hand and take turns speaking. Students will improve their ability to collaborate with diverse classmates to accomplish goals.
