In this class, students will receive all the necessary tools to be successful in third grade. This class will cover everything third grade, such as, Math, Reading, Science, and Social Studies. My goal is to ensure that learning is fun and successful to every learner enrolled. We will have learning their music, dancing, and chanting. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Perks of joining this class: ***15% off for siblings ***The first 5 learners enrolled will receive a 15% discount ***Learners will have access to all CORE and extracurricular classes for 50% ***Learners will receive FREE 1-on-1 tutoring for the teacher (at parent/students request) ***Students will receive homework and will receive feedback along ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- In this class, students can access several different interactive learning websites such as Lilio, Epic!, Zearn, NearPod, etc. Your student will receive a password and username once they have registered for the class. Teachers will assign an assignment to your learner throughout the week on the website. We will have fun learning and practicing our motoring movement skills through singing and dancing. Students can work on their social skills by interacting with their classmates. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Math we will use the Eureka Curriculum and for Social Studies we are using the 180 Days of Social Studies text book and Understanding Geography Map Skills level 4 textbook. We will also be using the Understanding Geography map skills and Our World. Because Cherry Learning Center is a homeschool learning institution and we take our learners learning very serious, you will receive progress reports. We love to have open community with our teachers and families. We will have fun learning and practice our motoring movement skills through singing and dancing. Students will be able to work on their social skills by interaction with their classmates. Week of 1/31 Creative Writing: We will spend this week getting to know each. Writing for understanding. Focus on parts of speech, similes and metaphors, punctuation, double negatives, and spelling rules. Formulate multiple paragraph pieces that focus on a specific purpose or audience Week of 2/7 English/Reading: Use knowledge of root words to determine the meaning of unknown words within a passage Math: PLACE VALUE, ROUNDING, AND ALGORITHMS FOR ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION Social Studies: State government: What is a government? How a government is ran for its countries? How the government works? Science: Earth Science and Solar System: The plants in the Solar System Week of 2/14 Creative Writing: 4 Square Method Reading: Context Clues Math: Multiplication and understanding an array Science: Earth and it's environment. What is an environment? What makes our own personal environment? Social Studies: Government: -Five Things to Know About the Constitution -The Three Branches of Government Week of 2/14 Creative Writing: 4 Square Method Reading: Understanding Text Clues Math: Multiplication and Equal Groups Science: How to keep Earth green? Social Studies: Government: Students learn about the different forms of government that exist, including democracy, autocracy, oligarchy, and others. Week of 2/21 Creative Writing: 4 Square Method Reading: Finding clues within a text Math: Equal Grouping Science: Think Earth: How to keep the earth green. All about recycling. Social Studies: Governments around the world Students learn about the different forms of government that exist, including democracy, autocracy, oligarchy, and others.
