6-8 small jars of play dough. Whatever colors you have totally works, but if you’d like it to be color-accurate you could be sure to have at least: red, yellow or orange, blue, green, white, and brown. (Play dough colors might mix during the making of this treasure map.) 

Play dough rolling pin, play dough cutting tools like a knife or pizza roller.

Scissors 

Pencil or chopstick

A fork and a spoon 

A paintbrush (or if you don't have this, something else that could be used to create texture in the play dough when you press into it like a leaf, a piece of string, a rough stone, etc.) 

A small amount of pretend jewels, coins, stones or beads to use as treasure. 

A good surface to build your treasure map on. This could involve a cookie sheet, pizza pan, lunch/school/craft tray or simply a suitable table to work at. 

Parental guidance is required for the use of scissors.
