The tutoring sessions provide support in the following: • phonics/spelling • reading comprehension • writing/ grammar • homework help For ongoing sessions: The first Session begin with an informal discussion about the family’s academic goals or concerns for the child. During this session, Ms. Donna will assess the current reading level according to the child’s skill and comfort level, to establish a baseline. Each subsequent level will address any gaps in learning. For “as-needed” or homework help: An electronic (pdf or pic) copy of the homework packet can be used to complete the work during the session.

There are no prerequisite classes. The students should be able to speak and understand instruction givien in English (at lease A1 level proficiency).

Students will need: 1. Comfortable seated area for tutoring 2. A quiet area 3. A pencil and paper 4. Younger students (ages 5-7) may need help navigating the computer from a grown-up nearby

Ms. Donna holds a Master of Arts Degree from George Mason University in Teaching with a focus in Arts Integration, a TESOL certification, and currently pursuing a doctorate in curriculum and instruction.
