Hi, I'm Ms. Shelby! As a certified Speech Teacher, I’ve found that children thrive best in small, one-on-one settings. This optimal learning environment empowers students, helping them realize their potential and enjoy acquiring relevant language and conversational skills. My priority is to ensure that each session together leads to meaningful progress and a solid understanding of the material.

In this personalized 30-minute class, your child will learn strategies to enhance their vocabulary, language, and grammar skills. We’ll begin each session with a conversation and read a book that aligns with your child’s interests, facilitating vocabulary learning through a multi-sensory approach. There will also be opportunities to answer comprehension questions and focus on social language. We’ll conclude with a FUN game to boost higher-level processing skills.

My goal is to develop your child’s interactive conversational skills by expanding their vocabulary and reinforcing proper grammar. If there is a specific skill you’d like me to focus on such as spelling, phonics, letter sounds, conversational skills, etc., please email me at least 24 hours before class.  Additionally, knowing your child’s interests (such as dolls, video games, animals, etc.) will help me tailor each session to make it engaging and memorable.

This is offered as a single session, but you are welcome to sign up for as many or as few classes as you feel are necessary. No prior experience or knowledge is required to join.
