週1時間. I can provide homework/ extra practice/ outside of class assessments at the request of the parent or student. This is not required but is an additional option. This extra work can be online or printed papers. We will just need to communicate as to what we want them homework to look like.
進捗レポート
Most of the homework I assign will have answer keys in case you want to grade it on your own. I can also provide grading that will be done during class. Together the Learner and I will take a look at any homework that I assign or that was assigned by anyone else. By grading with the Learner we have a great way to review the assignment and show them the things they did correctly and things they need to work on. I can take a look at homework that was graded by someone else if there was something you don't understand. I can also keep the students letter grade if you would like me to do that. After every assignment (from me or anyone else) the learner and I can add the grades into a grade tracker and calculate their overall grade. This teaches the learner the process of calculating their own grade and is something my high school math teacher taught us. It shows you how and the little things add up and that bad grades become a bad overall grade while good grades provide a good overall grade. It's one of those things I turn into a life lesson. Grading (reviewing assignments) and grade tracking can be done during class, as part of another session, every so often, or not at all. It's up to you. I would suggest reviewing assignments and tracking grades at least once or twice a month. It's like a budget.

When I was coaching, my players grades were very important. I offered and encouraged our players to attend 'study tables'. I once heard a coach say that he didn't call it study hall because that implies that someone sits at a desk while a student sits at a desk and works by themselves. Study table means that we are sitting at the same table working together to get better.

This class is much the same. First, let me know what you are working on or want help in. I create problems or content to work on and I base it around the students interests. I also do a homework check in each class to see if students would like to spend class that evening working on that. We can mix it up as needed.

Need to add more time to your session? Need to schedule multiple times a week? Need to find a time outside of my available hours? Just message me and we can see what's possible!

***CLASS STRUCTURE***
1) Team Meeting- We use slides to guide each class in a smooth and organized way. Each class starts with the Team Meeting and Life Lesson of the Day. You can read more about those on my teaching profile.

2) Introductory meeting (first class only) - After that we will have an introductory meeting. I have a conversation with each student to go over their goals and interests and get to know each other. Any information you could give me beforehand about what you guys need to work on helps a bunch.

3) Goal review- We should come out of that meeting with 3 goals set. Our first goal may be a homework check if that is something you guys are wanting help with. In our first class that is probably some kind of age-appropriate and assessment so I can get a feel for what they are working on. That way we can narrow down our goals and be able to make future goals. The main thing here is that we do a goal review every class so that the student can keep me in the loop and we can have a goal mindset. Along with main outside of class prep though is setting goals each for each class, keeping parents in the loop with messages, and creating new content for the student to work on so I very carefully consider each students goals and overall learning plan.

4) Work On Goals- This takes up the bulk of class and looks different for each student.

The lessons are always growing and the path we put a student on really depends on their specific learning goals, the subject (or subjects) they want help on and their understanding of that subject. Sometimes the biggest thing is that students have missed earlier concepts or are having trouble connecting them to the new concepts being taught. So we will fill any gaps needed anywhere we need before moving on and practicing new concepts. I have found that students really appreciate it from this angle and it cuts down on the frustration while increasing our success rate.

I can create a lesson for just about any subject for any grade. If there is a subject I'm not great at, I let students in on the learning process. I teach adult education at a local community college where I teach high school and junior high level reading, science, social studies, writing, language, and math so feel free to ask about any of that as well as anything else such as test taking, writing essays for other classes, financial literacy, social skills, or anything else!

Here are some examples 1:1 tutoring I have done in the past.
-7th grade World War 1 themed math
-6th grade anime math
-5th grade NBA math
-4th grade Pokemon math
-2nd grade Hello Kitty math

**Math Help**
Next we move into the bulk part of our lesson for class. These can be any math topic for students from 3rd grade up to 8th grade. We have built in lessons over place value, rounding, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, word problems, fractions, order of operations, decimals, percentages, geometry, algebra, data and statistics, converting measurements, expressions, equations, algebra, order of operations, and more.

**Essay help**
I also have found that I really enjoy writing papers. In college I always enjoyed writing composition and exposition papers and then I started teaching them as part of my Adult Education classes. I feel very comfortable helping students become better writers of an essay by going over what an essay is and making sure we understand the different types as well as be given tips and tricks on how to write a good essay. My students have a very high success rate in passing the essay part of their test. I believe out of 40 students that I sign up for the test have passed their essay on the first attempt. If it's essay help you need, I will spend class going through the steps in how to write a good essay and reply to a prompt. We will end with a little grammar practice. Additional sessions can be booked to spend time working with students on practice essays as well as assist with homework from other classes.

***CLASS INSPIRATION***
I was already teaching on Outschool when I found out that they do 1:1 tutoring. I had been teaching both online on other platforms and in-person both at a community college and a K-12 school for 8 years. I felt like with as much teaching as I have done I surely have a lot to give back. Turns out, it was a lot of fun! I love the process that I have worked out for online tutoring sessions and helping kids with their goals. Watching them understand something after teaching it to them is the ultimate thrill and online teaching gives me a way to do it all of the time!

学習ニーズ
Classes with an ADHD student will be fast paced and include many questions and activities to keep the student engaged. We will also talk about the students interest and balance the time between their interests and the academic content.
保護者へのお知らせ
Please be advised that anything deemed inappropriate will not be considered for use as a hobby when using student interests to create lessons. This includes anything illegal or veliger in nature.
受講に必要なもの
It really depends on the student and their goals but for our first session nothing will be required. A notebook for class and a pencil are always a great idea but we can get by without it and develop a plan form there. I have a document camera and a white board that I can use to have students give me the answers to problems and tell me what to write. This is a very engaging way to assess students. Access to a printer for extra practice (homework) may be helpful but again, not necessary.
