Is your child needing a challenge or struggling in reading, math or writing? With 27 years of brick and mortar experience, as well as more than three years teaching online with Outschool, I can help your learner progress.  

Over the course of six weeks (the class formatted specifically for charter schools but anyone is able to join), I will help to challenge your child or teach them beginning skills, depending on their current status. Consistency is key and teaching your learner for these six weeks will begin the foundation they need in order to succeed!

Since this class is tailored to your child's needs, your child will quickly progress. 

If your child needs assistance in reading, we will use phonics, sight words, and/or word families to help improve their skill.

For children needing help with math, we will build using their current math foundation, teaching them how to use the skills they currently have to improve.

To improve in writing, I can show your learner how to use an outline, descriptive words, or spider web planning to create better paragraph or story writing.

We can also create a plan based on your specific educational needs, knowing that children learn in a variety of ways.

Hi there! Miss Cindy here! I'm excited to take you into the world of learning, whether that is for an academic subject, such as math, reading, writing or tutoring or a social class which includes public speaking or social interaction. 

TYPICAL CLASS ROUTINE:

Greeting/Get to know you time
Class time, including teaching of given topic and practice of that skill
Closing which may include a puppet, a game, or show and tell, depending on the type of class your learner is taking. My goal is to have every child smiling and excited to return to the next class!

27 years of brick and mortar classroom experience
Four years of experience teaching online

I try to keep students engaged through a mix of hands on teaching and great student interaction. I enjoy learning about each child and making a connection that makes them want to return to class!

PHILOSOPHY OF LEARNING:
Every child is capable of learning, although some may learn in different ways. Making learning fun and working hard to learn produces children who want to learn even more! And isn't that our life goal?! Let's make life-long lovers of learning together!

ABOUT ME:

When I'm not in the classroom, I love to spend time outside walking or working in my yard, reading, or spending time with friends. I also like to bake bread and make cookies.
