This program is suitable for native English speaker and non-native English speaking children (ELL) of any age. 


Read by Three Method has structured classes for students to become better readers. The trouble is that many parents may not know their child's actual reading level causing children to struggle adapting to programs above their ability. Read by Three is a proven method that also provides this consultation to help get your child started in the right lesson phase right away. 

What it is: 
In this one-on-one thirty minute consultation, the reading specialist will ask a series of targeted questions and conduct interactive activities to identify the learners abilities and gaps in knowledge. By the end of the session, you will better understand your child's reading level, their needs and proficiencies, and be given a learning phase to improve their reading skills. 

What is isn't:
It is not a multiple choice test. It is not invasive. It is not scary. It is not meant to make you worry or stress. 

Upon finalizing the consultation, your learner will be recommended to one of the following learning phases as part of the internationally applauded Read by Three Method:

**FAMILIARITY PHASE: (approximately 8 lesson hours to achieve mastery)
Children are absorbing countless information. The first segment of Read by Three program is called Familiarity Phase. It is an important foundational phase to help the child become aware and familiar with letter shapes, letter sounds (phonics), uppercase and lowercase, and seeing their name and other common words while hearing it. Reading the right books, enunciating clearly with proper tone, and pointing to each spoken syllable and word yields success.

**SAY PHASE: (approximately 15 lesson hours to achieve mastery)
Once children master the Familiarity Phase, next is the opportune time to reinforce learning of phonics and commonly found words by labeling things in their environment, and teach sight words. Sectioning 100 sight words into groups of 5-10, while reviewing prior learned vocabulary yields success. It is important to utilize age-appropriate books that showcase the target words. 
Note- we are not teaching memorization of words. We are scaffolding learning in an evidence-based "tried and true" method to help your little learner build confidence and true reading abilities.

**READ PHASE: (approximately 10 lesson hours to achieve mastery)
Children having mastered prior phases are well ready to begin independent reading. Strive to foster encouragement and limit "in-moment" correction. In this phase, prior knowledge is reviewed and reinforced while sentence building begins. Stronger reading comprehension skills develop through word association activities and basic storybook concept mapping. Again, correct books that reinforce learned material and are appropriate contribute greatly to success.

**“BUILDING” PHASE: (approximately 9 lesson hours to achieve mastery)
Children can trace letters and words while applying previous learned content into their lessons. Children are independent book readers and find joy in reading all sorts of things- such as food packaging, road and storefront signs, numerous books, and more! Children can spell simple words.

**CREATING PHASE: (approximately 17 lesson hours to achieve mastery)
Children can independently spell words, advance in reading comprehension, and create stories through plot and genre practice.
